Renowned Chinese Calligrapher

The renowned Chinese calligrapher Zhao Hairuo integrates the rhythm of poetry and the composition of painting into his calligraphy, creating an ethereal artistic realm. He has pioneered the unique "Ruxiang Style," which can be translated as "a style as harmonious and auspicious as an elephant."

He was born in Kunming, Yunnan, China in 1968. As an associate Professor, he works in Calligraphy Department at Yunnan Academy of Fine Arts. As a vice Chairman of Kunming Calligraphers Association, he has developed the author of poetry collections and research works.

His hobbies are traveling and writing poetry. He has been to Antarctica, Machu Picchu, Northern Europe, Caucasus, Balkans and India. At the same time, he loves to write poetry or writing calligraphy on locally picked leaves.

Apart from Chinese poets, he enjoy reading poetry by Goethe, Whitman, Lermontov, Baudelaire, Pound, Dickinson, Neruda, and Frost.
