Born in Yunnan, China, he graduated from the Academy of Experimental Art at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and currently lives and works in Beijing.

His primary focus is on research in the field of new media art, which includes mechanical art, video installations, and installation art. His works have been selected for numerous national and international art exhibitions, including the Echigo-Tsumari Art Festival, the Jimei-Arles International Photography Festival, the first Yangtze River Video Biennale, and the Beijing International Design Week. Several of his works have been acquired by collectors at home and abroad. In 2019, he initiated and established the Dongmi Ao International Art Village in Songyang, China.
